The Method Of Offset Printing
Many significant tasks in a business such as maintaining flow of information intra-company and marketing the products of the company need printing service. Offset printing is the most commonly used printing technique and learning about it is therefore helpful and important.
Offset printing can produce a large number of prints quickly, which makes it more economical than other technologies and also more popular. The customers giving big printing orders are advised by the printers to choose offset printing due to this reason.
Offset printing uses oil based ink, which does not mix with water. Its so called because in this method, images are not transported directly from the plates to the paper but this is done using rubber blankets as a medium.
The process starts by preparing the designs. Film negatives were used in the past for making images and then duplicating them to aluminum based printing plates. In the current times, the printers can use the image setting system for preparing the plates directly. After this, the plate is attached to a cylinder with the right side facing upwards. Next, the water is dispersed on the image plates, which is followed by the ink. The ink is spread over the image and to stop it from spilling, a thin layer of water is spread over the remaining part of the plate.
Next, the image is turned around when it is put on to a rubber blanket which is attached to another cylinder. Afterwards, sheets of paper of required dimensions are put together and the rubber blankets transmit the image to the sheets on a third cylinder, where it comes out as the correct side.
Last steps of the printing job involve things such as stapling, pasting or organizing the printed sheets according to the instructions of the client, and any printing company should easily manage these.
