The storm was raining ice, accumulating up to two inches of ice on trees and damaging our electrical lines causing a blackout for four days. Well, we were fortunate unlike the others who had to suffer without electricity for two months. Even though we had put up a fire to warm ourselves and cook our food, having hot water would have been handy. Forty two degrees was the hottest it could get in the rooms we closed up. When the ices liquefied, fungi were reeking in the house’s kitchen and laundry area. We knew there was a leak but couldn’t find it. It took us many days to discover that the leak was the pipe behind the washing machine. Because of the ice, it cracked. Nevertheless, the problem was there so we just paid a huge amount for the repairs. Now, everything is okay.
